Overton Tune

‘Overton’ comes from one of the Winder Manuscripts from Wyresdale, near Lancaster. Attributed to ‘Fish’, the tune was originally published as St Mark by Henry Boyd, a Scottish composer. The village of Overton, near Heysham port in Lancashire, boasts Lancashire’s oldest church, still with its fine eighteenth century singing gallery. Recorded in 1998, on ‘Repeat their Sounding Joy’ CD.
